ROOM inspiration

As we set off to enjoy another weekend ... here is a brilliant idea / inspiration to bring memories and nature to your home. I got this little glass jars from Ikea eons agon and wanted to start collecting things from my walks here in Northern MN. Twigs, dirt, acorns, sand .. what have you .. and display them in my house on a ledge. When I saw this pic today I thought LIKE THAT... she's nailed it beautifully. It looks like she's even included labels.

walls are closing in on ...

I am so into these right now although I haven't chosed one for my house yet. I am getting close though. They are everywhere now and that means they are getting cheaper ... yeah

I have to remember this one when I finally get around to doing a pet related post!

I am always one click away from starting an addiction. After frequenting antique stores and design website I realize I could easily be a tray collector. Maybe because it's also the first part of my name tray-sea. I have two right now and .. don't get me started .. I could collect all the live long day. Thank goodness I have a teeny apartment and no where to keep these types of things.

sit on it

I was thinking about what would inspire me for a new post today. I traveled on over to Design*Sponge ... always a wealth of inspiration ... and there I saw it, a post on wonderful office chairs. They looked so comfortable and modern and stylish. Much better than the mushroom butt making chair I sit on everyday at work.

Anyhow, from there I headed on over to Etsy and typed in chair. Woowwee, there is so much wonderful stuff that comes up. There are chairs that cost well over $1K on there. Selling a chair for a grand on Etsy .. cool. Of course other wonderful artisans that were inspired by chairs. Take a look and don't forget to SIT ON IT! Didn't Potsy always say that on Happy Days? hhmm

Thursday inspiration ... first post of 2008

Inspired by this loverly shot from Making it Lovely [she has impecable taste and style] I was day dreaming about the day I'd have space to display wonderful items. As it is now I shop antique shops and wonderful online artisans and sigh .... I can't buy that, I don't have one teeny tiny spot for anything. I shove shoes under the bed, adorn my DVD player with my craft books and eekk out a corner of the kitchen with all of my craft supplies. I know I'm not alone, so lets all day dream about the days we can make a place our own!

These are just a smattering of neat things that I'd put in my hutch ... if I had one
